Electro antennographic study of periphery response of the antenna of drosophila melanogaster to fragrant stimulations

Electro antennographic study of periphery response of the antenna of drosophila melanogaster to fragrant stimulations

Comptes Rendus des Seances de l'Academie des Sciences Serie III Sciences de la Vie 293(15): 839-842

EAG were recorded from antenna of adult D. melanogaster. The electrical response polarity depended on the nature of the stimulating molecule; its amplitude was related to the concentration. A linear relationship was found between the log of the response and the log of the concentration. The amplitude of the responses and the reproducibility of the results enabled the EAG of Drosophila to be used for routine experiments in wild flies and in olfactory mutants.
