Electrophoretic study of esterases in different tissues of the beetle haltica caerulea
Esterase pattern of hemolymph, foregut, midgut, hindgut, ovary and testis of H. caerulea was examined disc electrophoretically. The zymograms varied in number and type of esterase bands. One band of esterolytic activity was common to all the tissues examined. The varied pattern indicates several roles for esterases in the insect.
