Electrophoretic study of readily soluble proteins in rye seeds in connection with selection for protein content

The method of electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gel was used to establish that synthesis of certain fractions of readily soluble proteins in the cereal grain are conjugated to a considerable extent between each other and with the general process of protein accumulation. Such relation permits using electrophoresis of grain proteins for detection and selection of plant forms with high protein content.
