Electrophoretic study of the plasma proteins of 2 anolis spp sauria iguanidae

, : Electrophoretic study of the plasma proteins of 2 anolis spp sauria iguanidae. Poeyana Instituto de Zoologia Academia de Ciencias de Cuba (242): 1-7

Differences in the electrophoretic pattern of plasma proteins in 16 specimens of A. equestris and A. porcatus were established by electrophoresis in cellulose acetate strips with a Veronal buffer system at pH 8.4. Electrophoretic mobilities of plasma proteins were determined for both species, yielding different values, except for fraction 1 which was identical in both Anolis lizards. Six protein bands were found in both species. Specimens of A. porcatus collected in La Habana differed from those collected in Pinar del Rio only in fraction 1, the rest being identical for both groups. The results obtained for each species and group evidenced the existing differentiation in the pool of the plasma proteins studied, related to the apparent process of differentiation between both groups of A. porcatus.
