Epidemiological aspects of acute childhood diarrhea due to difficult adenoviruses in the province of madrid spain

Infectologika 6(5): 25-28

Fecal samples from 750 children ranging in age from several days to 9 yrs. old were subjected to EM study. Adenovirus was seen by EM in 36 samples (4.8%), and in 4 cases where samples positive to adenovirus were inoculated into Chang and Grahan 293 cell cultures. Children most affected appeared to be those younger than 7 mos. Enteral adenoviruses apparently circulate throughout various seasons of the year.
