Epidemiological aspects of chronic myelo leukemia


, : Epidemiological aspects of chronic myelo leukemia. Problemy Gematologii i Perelivaniya Krovi 21(11): 29-33

The indices of chronic myeloleukemia morbidity among the population of the Kuibyshev region [USSR] from 1965-1972 was standardized according to age, sex and nationality. The incidence of disease was equal in the urban and rural population. The highest indices were noted in persons over 60 years of age; at this age the incidence of disease in men was more than double that seen in women. The incidence of malignant tumors in close relatives of patients suffering from chronic myeloleukemia was twice that seen in the control group.
