Epidemiological risk factors in Hodgkin's disease

, : Epidemiological risk factors in Hodgkin's disease. Nowotwory 31(2): 169-174

Interviews with 112 Hodgkins disease patients and 101 controls showed that the rural; in contrast to the urban, environment may play a role in the development of this disease. Educational level and home overcrowding as well as procedures such as tonsillectomy and appendectomy did not raise the risk of disease development. Occupational exposure to pitch, asphalt and soot was 3-fold as frequent in patients as in controls. Among parents of these patients, allergic and rheumatic illnesses were nearly twice as frequent as in control group parents.
