, : Epidemiological study of the oral health status of children in the district of pieria greece. Odontostomatologike Proodos 39(2): 131-146

The purpose of this epidemiological study was to evaluate the oral health of children in the district of Pieria. Persons (1245) between 6 and 18 yr of age were examined. This whole population was divided into Rural mountainous, rural of Valleys and Urban. This epidemiological methodology followed closely the directions of WHO. The obtained data showed: Dental caries is rather prevalent with mean dmf and DMF values of 4.55 and 5.61, respectively. Periodontal disease afflicts about 38% of the population of this age group.
