Epidemiological study on tuberculous disease in children in the province of florence italy 1971 1980

, : Epidemiological study on tuberculous disease in children in the province of florence italy 1971 1980. Annali Sclavo 24(4): 352-367

An epidemiologic study was carried out on tuberculous disease (TBC) in the province of Florence during the last 10 yr (1971-1980). Data have been compared with national results of previous periods. Tuberculous epidemiology in children has been particularly studied. The number of patients suffering from TBC admitted at hospital departments in the province of Florence during 1976-1980 were studied. They concluded that, in spite of a drop in mortality, morbidity and tuberculin test positivity in the province of Florence and in Italy, TBC can still be considered a social disease.
