Epidemiology of breast cancer in nagasaki city japan special reference to atomic bomb survivors

, : Epidemiology of breast cancer in nagasaki city japan special reference to atomic bomb survivors. Nagasaki Igakkai Zasshi 62(1): 52-57, 6

We analysed the incidence rate of breast cancer and distribution of histologic types in Nagasaki City using Nagasaki Tumor Registry data during the period 1973-1982. 587 cases (299 exposed and 288 nonexposed) of breast cancer during the ten-year period have been registered. The age-adjusted relative risk was significantly higher in A-bomb survivors and showed a dose response relationship of the radiation. The difference in relative distribution of histologic type between A-bomb survivors and nonexposed persons was not significant.
