The single radial haemolysis (SRH) test and the haemagglutination inhibition (HI) test were carried out for the serological evaluation of influenza virus antibodies in 617 normal horse sera. Officially recognized strains A/equine/Prague/56 (H7N7) and A/equine/Miami/63 (H3N8) were used as antigens. For the SRH test the method worked out by Russell et al. (1975) was adopted. The SRH is easy to perform for the influenza antibodies determination. The comparison of SRH and HI results gave a positive correlation between the two methods, the sensitivity of the SRH test being somewhat lower.
