Eradication of house dust mites in the indoor environment of patients with mite asthma 1

Eradication of house dust mites in the indoor environment of patients with mite asthma 1

Allergologie 9(10): 448-457

With 11 patients with an actually significant allergy against house dust mites a systematic investigation of patient's indoor environment is performed. The individual state of mite colonisation and excrements derived from samples of dust from beds, upholstrey and carpets is followed up over months and years after the application of a new acaricidal agent as liquid, foam or powder. In all cases a total killing of house dust mites is to succeed. As been demonstrated in two examples, after the sanitation of indoor environment from mites the asthma symptoms improve, the peak flow values increase and the use of bronchospasmolytics decrease.
