Estimation of avoidable loss by insect pests on sunflower at bangalore india

Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences 48(5): 264-265

The losses to sunflower (Helianthus annuus Linn.) due to foliage-feeding insects and Heliothis armigera Huebner on heads were estimated by differential control in the field. Loss due to foliage-feeding insects was estimated at 268.17 kg/ha, that due to H. armigera was 120.00 kg/ha and combined loss 388.17 kg/ha.
