Experiments were conducted on male Wistar rats weighing 227 .+-. 6.4 g. Parabolic and Gaussian distribution methods were used to study the possibility of prognostication of the outcome of radiation sickness according to derivative parameters of K/Na ratio of the whole blood before and after irradiation. The method of Gaussian distribution permits prognostication of the outcome of radiation sickness, with an accuracy of up to 89%, according to K/Na ratio in the blood.
