Evaluation of antibacterial properties of marigold flowers (C. officinalis L.) and mother homeopathic tinctures (C. officinalis L. and C. arvensis L.) by a broth dilution method with standardized inoculum was reported. Purification by low pressure preparative liquid chromatography was performed on a hydroacetoneous extract of fresh plant. One isolated fraction had bactericidal activity against Staphylococcus aureus at a concentration of 1 mg/ml.
