Evaluation of seedless forage sorghum sterile

To avoid appearance of volunteer (spontaneous) sorghum plants in mixed farming where crop and cattle are raised, the behavior of seedless forage sorghum was evaluated in comparison with a seed forage sorghum variety used in the region. The experiment was carried out in the fields of the Facultad de Agronomia y Zootecnia (Argentina), during 1974/75. The androsterile 2729 A INTA and the hybrid Goldmaker were the sterile forage sorghums tested, using the Oli vero Carcarana variety as check. Production and nutritive quality were determined in all the tested material.
