Evidence of heterogeneity of the outer membrane proteins of salmonella typhimurium by iso electric focusing

, : Evidence of heterogeneity of the outer membrane proteins of salmonella typhimurium by iso electric focusing. Microbios Letters 1(1): 49-55

An efficient method for detecting heterogeneity in the outer membrane proteins of S. typhimurium 1195 is presented. The outer membrane proteins were analyzed by isoelectric focusing in polyacrylamide gels in the presence of urea. The proteins were resolved within the range from pH 5.3-8.4 in the gel. The outer membrane apparently consists of a heterogeneous mixture of 10 proteins which are basic and acidic in nature.
