Evidence of poly peptide synthesis activity during the cyto toxic reaction in sipunculids
The occurrence of polypeptide synthesis during the in vitro cytotoxic reaction of sipunculic leukocytes [from Sipunculus nudus and Siphonosome arcassonense] is demonstrated. Some drugs, e.g., actinomycin D, cycloheximide, cytochalasin B. colchicine, vinblastine and iodoacetate, were tested. Hypotheses are presented on the use of the products synthesized by leukocytes.
