, : Expansion of the jackal's range in the kazakh ssr ussr. Izvestiya Akademii Nauk Kazakhskoi SSR Seriya Biologicheskaya (1): 30-33

Observation was done in 1978-1985. The jackal (Canis aureus L.) has established itself in the Syr Darya floodplain, adjacent areas and the Aral Sea Shore. It continues to extend its range in the direction of the north and southeast. Its ecological plasticity contributed to its rapid expansion in the southern Kazakh SSR.
