Experience in treating hematogenic and post injury osteo myelitis by using immuno globulin preparations

, : Experience in treating hematogenic and post injury osteo myelitis by using immuno globulin preparations. Bratislavske Lekarske Listy 76(1): 78-85

In 22 cases (human) of different forms of osteomyelitis treatment with antibiotics and surgery were successfully combined with administration of Ig. Serum Ig deficiency in the patients and a close correlation between Ig levels and the development and course of osteomyelitis were established by laboratory methods. The methods used in 3 case reports were described in detail. The clinical and laboratory findings were reported. The wide range of potential uses of Ig were discussed. The new preparations Ivega and Igam produced were of good quality and without adverse effects. Soon these preparations will be available for therapeutic uses.
