Expression of necrosis in triticale x wheat hybrids triticosecale x triticum aestivum

Expression of necrosis in triticale x wheat hybrids triticosecale x triticum aestivum

Crop Improvement 10(2): 132-135

Hybrid necrosis observed in many hexaploid triticale x bread wheat crosses varied from cross to cross. Most of the secondary triticale strains seemed to carry Ne2 gene from bread wheat. The presence of 3 alleles (weak, moderate and strong) at Ne1 and Ne2 loci was revealed.
