, : Expression of thymidine kinase ec 2.7.1.21 activity in hybrids between human leukemic cells and a tk minus mouse cell line. Biochemistry and Experimental Biology 15(2): 125-132

A series of actively proliferating clones were isolated after PEG[polyethylene glycol]-induced fusion of a thymidine kinase [TK] deficient murine line and white blood cells from 2 leukemic patients. Their hybrid nature was proven cytologically and biochemically. All the hybrids tested showed levels of TK activity significantly higher than the TK- mouse parental cell line and comparable to those exhibited by replicating TK+ cells.
