On Aug. 26th, 1976, an Atlantic sturgeon A. oxyrhynchus M., was caught in the St. Lawrence River near Vercheres ('30''30" W, representing an extension of its known distribution by 50 km above Lake St. Pierre, where 1 capture was reported in 1946, and by 100 km above Trois-Rivieres, its usual upstream limit.
