Extension of missouri usa ozark faunal region
Extending the Ozark zoogeographic region into the Lincoln Fold of northeastern Missouri because of topography, habitats and herptile species recorded in Cuivre River State Park was discussed. Many common amphibians and reptiles restricted primarily to the Ozark region in Missouri are found in Cuivre River State Park, 7 of them representing range extensions, giving the Lincoln Fold a decidedly Ozarkian character. [The new records included Hemidactylium scutatum, Ambystoma opacum, A. annulatum, A. maculatum, Lygosoma laterale, Haldea valeriae elegans and Sceloporus undulatus hyacinthinus.].
