Feed value of straw meal in the nutrition of pigs 7. fat composition of pigs after feeding partly hydrolyzed and untreated straw meal

Feed value of straw meal in the nutrition of pigs 7. fat composition of pigs after feeding partly hydrolyzed and untreated straw meal

Archiv fuer Tierernaehrung 31(5-6): 353-356

As supplementation to various diets, pigs (10 groups in live weight range 36-130 kg) received 424 g partly hydrolyzed straw meal on an average of the 162 days of the experiment or 316 g untreated straw meal to 2 diets (values in dry matter). Saponification index, melting point, refractive index and composition of fatty acids were determined in fat samples from the fatty tissue of belly and back. Neither the partly hydrolyzed straw meal nor the untreated straw meal had an influence on the parameters investigated.
