Homeotic transformation of antennae, legs and halters was studied in: simple Ns, Antp (Antp49 and Antp50), and Pc2 stocks; Ubx130/bx+, Ubx130/bx and Ubx130/pbx compounds and in pairwise combined stocks of the 1st and the 2nd group, (e.g., Nsbx/Ubx130 or Pc2pbx/+Ubx130 etc.). Reliable, sometimes significant deviation (in stocks involving Antp49) in the rate of antennae and halters transformations was found in combined stocks, as compared to simple mutants and compounds. Ubx130 compounds studied somewhat enhanced the expression of Pc2, whereas no uniform influence of Pc2 on those compounds could be detected. Possible overlapping of genetic systems controlling the antennal and thoracic anlagen development is discussed.
