Genetic control of some qualitative morphological and biochemical characters and location of three genetic factors in chromosomes 1 and 5 of hordeum vulgare

In genetic studies of Hordeum vulgare L. chromosomes the linkage of Ml-ama, sex 6, Pgd 3, Prx 1 loci and T1-? translocation with genes Nn, Hrd A, Hrd B, Pgd 2, r (mapped formerly on barley chromosomes 1, 5 and 7) was established. Ml-ama is shown to be located on the short arm of chromosome 5, between Hrd A and Hrd B loci, the gene sex 6 being mapped on the long arm of chromosome 1 at 13.3% recombination in the direction to the centromere. It is found that the variety Nigrinudum is a carries of the reciprocal translocation T1-? which engages the short the short arm of chromosome 1. The systems of 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase and cathodic peroxidase were studied by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Inheritance of Pgd 3 and Prx 1 products was proved to be genetically determined and independent of the analysed genetic factors of barley chromosomes 1, 5 and 7.
