Eight clonal populations drawn from four geographically isolated species and their eight metric characters including oil content (%) were studied by genetic correlations, D2-statistic and canonical analysis. Of the eight characters, leaf length was found to be the most potent character showing both association with oil content (%) and large contribution to divergence. Genetic divergence, in general, was not related with geographical distribution of mints. Intraspecific hybridization between S1 and S3 genotypes of Black-Mint has been suggested.
