Genotype x environment interaction studies for grain yield in foxtail millet setaria italica l. beauv

Twelve genotypes of foxtail millet were studied in six different environments during four years. Genotype .times. environment interaction was found to be significant. The genotypes SiA,2571 and SiA, 2566, with high yield, unit regression coefficient and non-significant deviation from regression, appeared to be most desirable. Three genotypes SiA. 2572, SiA, 67 and SiA, 1162 with above average mean performance were found to be unstable. Arjuna, the check variety, gave the lowest grain yield.
