Abstract
The activity of ferredoxin-glutamate synthase in etiolated pea shoots increased during greening proportionally with the increase in chlorophyll contents, while NADH-glutamate synthase activity did not change. The increase in the ferredoxin-dependent activity was inhibited by either cycloheximide or chloramphenicol. Both glutamate synthase enzymes were located in the plastids.
