Growth of sheep of chokla breed under different systems of grazing on a saline rangeland in the arid zone of rajasthan

, : Growth of sheep of chokla breed under different systems of grazing on a saline rangeland in the arid zone of rajasthan. Annals of Arid Zone 15(1-2): 102-105

Chokla lambs were raised under 4 different pastoral treatments in India. These pastoral treatments within a season did not significantly affect the growth rate of the ram lambs. Growth on year long basis per lamb averaged 18.4 kg (range 17.8-19.5 kg). On saline soils the animals showed gains in their body weight throughout the year but body weight fluctuated seasonally.
