Cinnamic, gallic and tannic acids caused a slight change in seed germination. The lower concentrations promoted growth while higher concentrations were inhibitory. The lower concentrations, 25 and 50 ppm, increased pulmule and radicle growth, and induced the development of lateral roots. Fresh weight and dry weight were increased. An increased-endogenous IAA level was observed which suggested inhibition of IAA-oxidase.
