Hemodynamics in the early post operative period in patients after mitral valve replacement and accompanying tricuspid valve failure

Intracardiac hemodynamics were monitored in the early periods after prosthesis of the mitral valve in human patients with accompanying tricuspid valve failure with and without correction. Regardless of the accompanying defect of the tricuspid valve, after 24 h folloing adequate correction of the mitral defect, a definite decrease in all left auricular pressure indices occurred. Adequate correction of defects of both valves normalized the function of both right and left ventricles and improved the indices of intracardiac hemodynamics. Uncorrected accompanying failure of the tricuspid valve impaired hemodynamics in the course of the early postoperative period.
