The cortex of some temporal regions in 6 cats were damaged by thermocautery. Laminar distribution and intracortical arrangement of interhemispheric association fibers in individual areas of neocortex was studied on contralateral, non-operated hemisphere by the method of Nauta and Gygax. The course and arrangement of these fibers, similarly as in the frontal and parietal cortex were non-specific for individual cortical regions and areas. Laminar distribution of these fibers was determined by the areas of their origin and termination. A diagram of laminar distribution of these fibers in individual cytoarchitectonic areas after lesions in the frontal, middle and occipital part of temporal cortex was presented. The different arrangement and laminar distribution of interhemispheric association fibers are discussed.
