Humus content and composition in soddy podzolic soils in smolensk oblast russian sfsr ussr

Humus content and composition in soddy podzolic soils in smolensk oblast russian sfsr ussr

Izvestiya Timiryazevskoi Sel'skokhozyaistvennoi Akademii (4): 49-56

Such factors as the mechanical composition of the soil, the degree of erosion, moisture regime conditions, soil-forming rocks, the degree of podzolization, and the level of organic fertilizer use were studied from the point of view of their effect on the humus condition of the soil. A positive correlation was established between the above factors and the humus condition of Smolensk Oblast soddy-podzolic soils. The systematic application of organic fertilizers is recommended, as well as increasing the productivity of annual and perennial grasses.
