Immuno suppressive effects of amura rohitaka and prednisolone on experimental allergic orchitis in guinea pigs

Pretreatment with rohitaka from A. rohitaka and prednisolone followed by allergization of guinea pigs with testes homogenate resulted in production of only early degenerative changes in the germinal epithelium of seminiferous tubules after the 8th wk of treatment. These changes were comparable to the 1st and 3rd wk changes in the control animals receiving only pretreatment. Antitesticular antibody titer of animals receiving rohitaka and prednisolone were suppressed and appeared after the 3rd wk of allergization. The efficacy of rohitaka and prednisolone as immunosuppressive drugs in prevention of experimental allergic orchitis in guinea pigs was indicated.
