In vivo application of voltage gradient technique to frog rana hexadactyla gastrocnemius muscle and sub cellular migratory patterns of sucrose soluble proteins and succinate dehydrogenase ec 1.3.99.1

The optimal voltage and period of exposure that can induce smooth migration of sub-cellular proteins and enzymes in vivo was determined. Progressive migration of proteins and enzymes along the anode-cathodal axis is noted up to 6 V; above which the migratory patterns become erratic. Time dependent electromigratory studies indicate that 10 min exposure to selected voltage gradient can induce migration of sub-cellular components within the tissue towards cathodal field. Identification of hyperoxidative activity in the tissues by employing catelectrotonic field is discussed in relation to prevailing charge densities of the macromolecules.
