Root and shoot growth of pine seedlings was affected by soil microorganisms. Growth was inhibited in plants grown under non-sterile conditions. Coryneforme bacteria were almost the only bacterial types isolated from seedling roots inoculated with soil suspensions prepared from non-productive and productive forest soil.
