Influence of pre sowing seed gamma irradiation on the genetic structure of dimorphic wheat cultivar

Sel'skokhozyaistvennaya Biologiya (5): 50-53

The frequencies of 2 main electrophoretic types of gliadine spectra are near the same types in variantes with low doses of .gamma.-irradiation both in initial material and in the yield from untreated seed of 'Moskovskaya 5' wheat. In variants with dose of 2.58 and 5.15 kr/kg an increase in the number of kernels from the A-form was found. The changes in genetic structure apparently was stimulated by the action of sublethal doses of irradiation as a factor of selection for more radio-resistant forms.
