Abstract
The inheritance of resistance of leaf rust (Puccinia recondita f. tritici) and stem rust (P. graminis f. sp. tritici) was studied in the common wheat (Triticum aestivum) cultivar Glenlea. Resistance to leaf rust was shown to be conferred by genes Lr1, LrT2, and a gene effective in the adult-plant stage that may be allelic or closely linked with Lr13. Resistance to stem rust was shown to be conferred by Sr5, Sr6, Sr9b, and by a fourth gene also present in the cultivar Waldron. Glenlea was heterogeneous for Sr6.
