Inheritance of some characters of productivity in intercultivar wheat hybrids

The inheritance of some characters of productivity in F1 and F2 crosses of cv. Sadovo 1 with cv. Trakiya, Bima and Tr. Col. Mex. 66/61 was studied in 1981-1983. The inheritance of plant height, length of main spike, number of grains per main spike, grain weight per spike and 1000 grain weight in the intercultivar winter wheat hybrids studied was overdominant or partially dominant. The mean number of grains in the spike per plant was inherited with incomplete dominance. The manifestations of heterosis in F1 are reduced in F2. In this respect only the hybrid plants of the cross Sadovo 1 .times. Tr. Col. Mex. 66/61 were an exception. They had higher heterosis values in F2 than in F1 concerning number and weight of the grains per spike, a fact probably due to transgression. Highest heritability coefficient was observed in F2 for plant height, followed by spike length, number and weight of the grains per spike and lowest for 1000 grain weight.
