Inheritance of yield its components and some other metric traits in a winter x spring cross of bread wheat

Six generations of a winter .times. spring wheat cross (Kloka .times. UP 368) were studied for days to flowering, tiller number, spikelets per spike, grain yield, seed size and harvest index. The mean performance of all the non-parental generations was within the parental limits. Additive as well as dominance effects were important for all the characters studied except in the case of ear length, spikelets per spike and harvest index. Duplicate epistasis played an important role in the inheritance.
