Abscisic acid (ABA) at 10-4 M completely inhibited GA3-stimulated release of acid phosphatase from wheat half-seeds into an incubation medium. The same treatment with ABA did not affect GA3-induced acid phosphatase in the half-seeds. The mode of inhibition of ABA on acid phosphatase release into the medium was apparently similar to that of cordycepin. These results are discussed in relation to the effect of ABA on the synthesis and release of .alpha.-amylase.
