A new method was developed for the synthesis of (Z)- and (E)-isomeric 8-dodecenylacetates on the basis of 3-heptinol, the product of the hydroxyethylation of 1-pentyne by 2-chloroethylvinyl ether. The structure and properties of the compounds were studied using PMR and IR spectroscopy and GLC.
