Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii (1): 97-102



A new method was proposed for the synthesis of sex attractants of Argyrotaenia velutinana (11-tetradecen-1-ol), Mamestra configurata (11-hexadecen-1-ol) and Lycorea ceres ceres (11-octadecen-1-ol). The method was based on the combination of C3-, C5- and C7-aldehydes with methyl ester of 11-bromundecanoic acid according to the Wittig reaction. The advantage of this method was using esters of unsaturated acids as initial products which were easily obtained by homogenous-catalytic co-oligomerization of 1,3-dienes with acrylates.
