Inoculation with Rhizobium sp. increased the numbers, dry weight and size of nodules, as well as the dry weight of plants and the percentage of N per plant. Organic manuring gave similar results. N fertilization increased the numbers, dry weight, size of nodules and dry weight and the percentage of N of plants, except 150 kg (NH4)2SO4/feddan. Soil infestation with each of R. solani or S. rolfsii or both decreased the percentage of total N of the plants and reduced the numbers, fresh and dry weights of nodules and fresh and dry weights of roots and shoots of the plants. Inoculation with Rhizobium sp. in soil infested with these fungi increased the numbers, fresh and dry weights of nodules and also increased the fresh and dry weights of plants and the percentage of total N of plants.
