Acute acquired hemiplegia in an apparently healthy child, i.e., pediatric stroke is an uncommon condition. Cerebral angiography reveals occlusive arterial disease in some of these children. Of he 2 arterial systems, i.e., carotid and vertebral, the involvement of the latter in such an occlusive process is rare and the association of the 2 in a child is an extreme rarity. A case of pediatric stroke with occlusion of the internal carotid and vertebral arteries is reported.
