The hybridization of tetraploid wheats with A. ventricosa shows that inspite of low seed production some hybrids are characterized by the high formative potential. The polyploidization and elimination of part of the genetic material in these hybrid generation and the resulting elimination of highly fertile Dinkel wheats are evidences of the polyphilitic origin of primary Dinkel wheats.
