Synthesis of gelatin-containing biospecific adsorbents based on agarose or hydroxyethylmethacrylate gels with or without a polysaccharide spacer was carried out and the absorbents prepared were studied for further application in affinity chromatography of fibronectin. The absorbents having polysaccharide spacer between gelatin and Sepharose were characterized by higher gelatin concentrations. The sorbents with the dextran spacer possessed higher capacity for fibronectin binding, as compared to those without the spacer. Biospecific isolation of human plasma fibronectin was carried out for the first time under conditions of high performance liquid chromatography using the gelatin-Spheron 300 sorbent.
