Isolation of cell hybrids secreting specific antibodies against bovine enteric coronavirus

Twelve hybrid cell lines secreting monoclonal (IgG) specific for bovine enteric coronavirus (BEC strain G110) were obtained following fusion of the nonsecreting variant of myeloma P3X63Ag8, SP2O, with splenic lymphocytes from mice immunized against this virus. Antibodies thus obtained were studied by indirect immunofluorescence and seroneutralization with cells infected by 2 French strains, G110 and F15, and an American strain of the coronavirus neonatal calf diarrhea virus. Immunochemical studies have confirmed this specificity.
